I Love like a Child

When I was a kid, I never understood How love could hurt? In movies and fairy tales It's the most beautiful feeling, I had ever heard and seen I loved the things that made me happy Avoided the ones that made me sad, frustrated, angry, heavy, unseen and mad Growing up I realised, Adults were right For nothing is as painful as love, indeed its blind Even when it hurts me, I chase it Even when it stings, I breathe it I break into pieces till my fingers bleed, I dive into oceans meant to drown me deep Even when I finally let go, I forget the cruelty, the sleepless nights I only remember the warmth, The forever tucked inside momentary smiles That’s just the way I am, when I love, I love without conditions, A tragically beautiful truth, woven into everything I feel
